Peak View Psychology, LLC was established in September 2010 and is located at 5373 North Union Blvd., Suite 101, Colorado Springs, CO 80918-2073. Peak View Psychology provides psychotherapy for toddlers up through elderly adults.
The owner and sole practitioner for Peak View Psychology is Dr. Dawn Kugler. Dr. Kugler has been a licensed psychologist since 1993. She became licensed in Colorado in August of 2010.
Dr. Kugler grew up in Red Wing, Minnesota and began her college education at the United States Air Force Academy. She completed her Bachelor of Science (1985), Master of Arts (1988), and Doctor of Philosophy (1991) (American Psychological Association Approved) degrees at the University of North Dakota. Dr. Kugler completed her internship at the Wichita Child Guidance Center and St. Francis Medical Center in Wichita, KS. Both were part of the American Psychological Association-Approved Wichita Collaborative Psychology Internship Program.
Dr. Kugler completed her requirements for licensure in South Dakota working as a partner at Psychological Associates of the Black Hills. She became licensed in South Dakota in 1993.
While in South Dakota, Dr. Kugler served as president of the South Dakota Psychological Association and led efforts to have South Dakota’s licensing law become a practice act versus a title act. Prior to her efforts, anyone could perform a psychologist’s duties in South Dakota as long as they did not call themselves a psychologist. Following a successful change to the law, one can now only perform a psychologist’s duties in the state if they have the proper credentials.
Dr. Kugler has had her current practice here in Colorado Springs since 2010. She has extensive experience working with children and their families as well as adults. Her specialty areas include Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder as well as Depression and Anxiety. She has also completed training for Cognitive Processing Therapy to treat Posttraumatic Stress Disorder.
